MASN

Moving Anthropology Student Network (MASN) is an international network gathering students, graduates and PH.D students. The organization was established in 2005 in Vienna by around 20 anthropology-students from six different European countries. The aim was to promote communication and exchange of experience in science and research between European students and graduates of anthropology, ethnology and sociology as well as the activists in related areas of interest. Today this network is connecting more than 1650 anthropologists and anthropology students from more than 80 different countries. This makes it the largest anthropological organization an a primarily student/PhD-level. Apart from virtual activities MASN is based on (half)annual conferences organized by changing groups of members from different universities and countries, which give the participants opportunities to establish direct contacts, to undertake common research projects and to promote anthropology as a discipline offering an alternative view of social problems.
